Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2016 Ontario Sunshine List: Public Health Ontario Top Earners

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Public Health Ontario's 101 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $15,654,351.40 in 2015.

Topping the list for the Public Health Ontario was President and Chief Executive Officer / Président-directeur général Peter Donnelly, who brought home $398,699.87 in 2015.

Following Peter Donnelly was Vice President, Science and Public Health / Vice-président, Sciences et santé publique George Pasut, with annual earnings of $384,891.66. Chief, Medical Microbiology / Directrice générale de la Microbiologie médicale Vanessa Allen made $349,901.68, Vice President, Laboratories and Human Resources / Vice-présidente, Laboratoires et Ressources humaines Donna Marafioti made $328,597.27, and Chief, Infection Prevention and Control / Directeur général, Prévention et contrôle des infections Gary Garber round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $320,204.21 for the Public Health Ontario 2016 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 37 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 33 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 12 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 5 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 3 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 11 received over $300,000 at the Public Health Ontario.
